Olde Towne Fall Crawl

October 25, 2008

JOIN US for our third charity pub crawl through Olde Towne Portsmouth on Saturday, October 25th. This year's Olde Towne Fall Crawl promises to be even bigger and better than last year's when through the gracious efforts of all of our sponsors, volunteers, and 250 participants, we were able to raise $4,570 - all for charity! ALL proceeds from this year's event will directly benefit Children's Performance Workshops who works in the local Hampton Roads area to teach children to recognize, prevent, and disclose child abuse and bullying. So gather your friends, family, co-workers, and random acquaintances and get ready for some historic bar-hopping fun! Details on event locations, registration, games, and other important information can be found through the menu links above.

REGISTRATION COMING SOON! To participate in this event, you will need to register online with a credit card (web registration stays open until Friday at midnight) or at the registration booth at Baron's Pub (500 High St) on Saturday between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM with cash or check made payable to the "Children's Performance Workshop" (no credit cards accepted on site). For your registration fee, you will receive an event T-shirt, souvenir cup, souvenir magnet, guide map of crawl locations, other promotional items, and a wristband good for food and drink specials at all sponsoring establishments.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We currently have a need for volunteers to help out during the event at each of the bars on the tour. If you have the time and desire to help us out, we'd definitely appreciate the help and will give you free registration to the event and a special volunteer shirt in return. Simply fill out our volunteer registration form to let us know your interest.

For those a bit less familiar with the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, Olde Towne is a historic downtown neighborhood located in Portsmouth just across the Elizabeth River from downtown Norfolk. It has kept up its 18th and 19th-century history and charm now for more than 250 years. Trinity Episcopal Church, founded in 1762, still rings its bells just across High St from the 1846 Courthouse that now serves as a museum. More on the history of Olde Towne, as well as a downtown map and other useful information, is available on the Olde Towne Business Association website.
